Dear Walkers:
Here at AIDS Walk St. Petersburg we love our pets and because of that, we ask you to consider the following: To ensure the safety of your pets and others. Here are a few things to ponder prior to making the decision to having your pet join us….
1. The walk is 3.2 miles. So your beloved pet must be able to walk that far of a distance.
2. The walk is done entirely on the sidewalk which can be rough and very hot for your pet’s paws.
3. The average temperature during the time of year of the Walk is 90 degrees with humidity reaching up to 100% at times.
4. Some of your fellow walkers are not “dog people”.
5. While water hydration stations will be provided for your pet, you will need to make any additional accommodations your pet may require.
6. All pets must be kept on a leash at all times.
7. If you chose to bring your pet, you will be responsible for cleaning up after your pet as well as supplying the materials to do so.
8. Now if you have read the following and are having your pet join us, then please get sponsorships for your pet as they are walking for a cause.
