Welcome to the Team information section of AIDSWalkStPetersburg.org Here you will be updated on events and information concerning team management for the 4th annual AIDS Walk St. Petersburg.

Steps for having a successful team:

Register your team. Think of a creative name that people will remember.

Get people to join your team. Possible recruits? Co-workers, family, friends, people from your faith community, people from an organization you belong to, the people that go to your gym, neighbors……. How about including people that live out of town? They can raise money where they live and come visit you on the weekend of AIDS Walk! Doesn’t everybody love to vacation in Florida???

Set a fund raising goal for the team. Each individual should set a fund raising goal for themselves also. There is no “registration fee” for AIDS Walk St. Petersburg but it is a fund raiser so we rely on the monies brought in to assist us in serving the clients at ASAP.

Start getting donations NOW! Don’t wait until the last minute to try to meet your goal. Any individual that raises $50 in donations will receive an AIDS Walk St. Petersburg 2007 T Shirt.

Email everyone in your personal address book about your involvement in AIDS Walk. Ask them to make a donation to help you reach (or surpass) your fund raising goal. When you register on the website you will be given a personal donation webpage. Give that webpage to everyone and they can make Pay Pal donations by credit card from all over the world. (Yes, in the past we have had international donations)

Create a buzz about your AIDS Walk team. Put up posters, hold inventive fund raisers (some ideas will be forthcoming). Put the AIDS Walk information in a tag line at the bottom of your emails. Are you on MySpace?? Make sure to mention AIDS Walk on your page and become a friend of AIDS Walk St. Pete.

Find out if the company you work for has a matching gift program. If they do, please let us know so that we can see what the qualifications are so that AIDS Walk St. Petersburg can benefit from that program. Just think how great that would be for your team!
